Today a long-standing wish came true. As my husband and I were out on our neighborhood’s main drag, I caught a glimpse of a lady with a dog. When I exclaimed, “I know that lady,” and told my husband who she is, he encouraged me to go meet her. When we approached, I felt I already knew her and her canine companion. Thanks to this lady’s wonderful blog, I have become acquainted with a very special someone (two if you count, as you should, her four-footed partner).
When I introduced myself by the name of my own humble blog, she seemed as pleased as I felt–and offered the ultimate compliment, a handshake from Lizzy the dog. Following on the heels of my fellow blogger’s reposting one of my entries, this encounter was even more momentous.
I could tell you about this extraordinary lady, but I’ll allow her blog to do it for me. There is only one comment I wish to make: this country, and everyone in it, should be proud of veterans like Ssgt. Leslie. The world definitely needs more people like you. Thank you.
Meet this incredible duo at http://www.combatyid.wordpress.com.
(Forgive me, Leslie, if I’ve caused you any embarrassment. My heart’s in the right place.)
