A Quick Look at Unforgettable Books

There are a few books I’d love to share with you, and I hope you will do the same!

A family, expecting a new baby, is looking for a perfect home.  As they are shown one house after another, they discover there is something not quite right about each.  At the same time, a raccoon is showing a run-down farm to a variety of animals, and they are delighted and proceed to move in.  Will the human family find the home they are looking for?  Catchy verse makes this a delightful read-aloud, and kids (and adults) will love the expressive illustrations: one can almost feel the wind as the family stands on a breezy seashore!  Ages 5-8

Emma, one of five children, is delighted with the new nanny her parents have hired.   She is young, lots of fun, likes kids, and loves pets.  Annie also knows when it is important to keep a secret: like the time Emma brings her pet ferret, Marmaduke, to school (which is against the rules) and he bites another student.  Readers will adore Emma, and look forward to following her (mis)adventures in more stories about the lively heroine.  Ages 7-10

Fourth-grader Jenny is given a class project she’s certainly not thrilled about: pretending to be a mouse, she has to write to a second-grader.  Worse, when she finally does write the letter, the younger girl does not answer.  Jenny is embarrassed and angry–until she discovers the reason why.  Ages 7-10
