A New Season, a New Beginning

Now that’s a cat after my own heart!

Welcome to my blog. Here you can learn about great new and timeless children’s and young adult books perfect for curling up with in a chair, bed, or any favorite spot.

Daylight time means that spring is not far behind! Naturally, that puts me in mind of some fantabulous books for this magnificent time of year.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
A little caterpillar literally eats his way through this book as he gets ready for an amazing change.

Spring Is Here by Taro Gomi. This ingenious picture book introduces us to a calf in springtime. One season follows another, it is spring again–and the calf has grown.

Kitten’s First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes.
An adorable white kitten mistakes the full moon for a bowl of milk, and will do anything to get it.

In the Garden: Who’s Been Here? by Lindsay Barrett George. When two children are sent into the garden by their mother to pick vegetables, they see signs that animals and insects have already been there. On the next page, the identity of each creature is revealed.

The Journey: Stories of Migration by Cynthia Rylant.
Learn how, when, and why six animals as different as caribou and monarch butterflies migrate in this big, beautifully-illustrated book.

“A book is like a little room you can carry around with you, and anytime you need to, you can slip in there and get away from it all.”–Diane Stanley, The Mysterious Matter of I.M. Fine

See you between the pages!
